Japan will implement the new invoice system for Japanese consumption tax (JCT) on 1st October 2023. The new invoice system will require business customers to retain qualified invoices that meet certain conditions in order to claim input JCT credits. Tax Partner Kenichiro Kishi
Kenichiro has over 20 years of auditing, tax advisory and financial advisory experience in Japan and Singapore. Kenichiro began his career with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC in 2001 where he undertook audit assignments for publicly-listed companies and SMEs in various industries. From 2007 to 2012, Kenichiro had worked for BDO Tax Co. (BDO Japan Tax) and was responsible for tax compliance & advisory services for both domestic companies and international companies as Tax Manager. He had provided Japanese clients based in Singapore with professional tax services within BDO Tax Advisory Pte Ltd (BDO Singapore) from 2012 to 2016. He was also in the Japan desk and provided Japanese companies in Singapore with various professional services. Through his knowledge and practice, Kenichiro had formed strong relationships among clients, between BDO Singapore and BDO Japan. He re-joined BDO Tax Co. (BDO Japan Tax) as Tax Partner in November 2016 and has provided tax compliance services and tax advisory services for both domestic companies and international companies. Also, he has overseen the accounting & treasury service team.
Staff Nuwandi Fernando
Nuwandi has over 10 years of auditing, tax advisory and financial advisory experience in Japan and Sri Lanka. Nuwandi joined BDO Japan in April 2020 and engaged in accounting/bookkeeping, treasury and tax compliance services for foreign-based clients. Nuwandi started her career with one of the biggest consulting firms in Sri Lanka and engaged in tax advisory services. Prior to starting her carrier in Japan, she was a Manager at Bank of Ceylon, which is the largest Sri Lankan Government own bank, for over 3 years. |
